The urge to seek peace, tranquility and a connection with oneself has inspired generations to travel across the length and breadth of India. It has even drawn multitudes from across its shores. Faith is not just a quest for religious solace. It touches the agnostic, the devotee and the outright atheist as well, though in differing ways. It is about nature, curiosity and a spirit of inquiry into matters of other worldly pursuit and the daily grind.
What does faith imply? Is it to travel beyond one’s immediate concerns and into a space where the mind breathes free? Is it inspired by devotional leanings or non-denominational seeking of an inner life? It could be a desire to experience nature and solitude or perhaps simply the celebration of social rituals and rites. The urge to travel towards this end is the rejuvenating basis of human existence.
